Winter Term Newsletter
Welcome Back!
We hope that every one had a fantastic Christmas break! Here at St. Laurence O'Toole's Specialist School, we enjoyed some fantastic Christmas celebrations. Every year, Sonia, our Bean an Tí prepares a delicious Christmas dinner for all our staff and students - thank you, Sonia!
School DJs!
Our students have been having an amazing time learning how to record and mimx tracks with Emily from Music Generation. There are certainly lots of talented DJs in the making at our school - we can't wait to hear their creations.
Rock Climbing
This term, we have started rock climbing at Awesome Walls and it has been a fantastic experience! Students are having great fun and developing good team work skills! Some of us are even overcoming our fear of heights!
Creative Schools - Clay and Graffitti
Fiona from Creative Schools has been working with students and staff to develop our skills in working with clay and honing our skills in working with sculpture.
We have also had some amazing graffitti skills lessons with Cian - bringing vibrant colours and artistic expression into the classroom. You never know - we might have these incredible designs on the walls of our school in the future!
Mock Exams
Our students are deep in preparation for their mock exams. We know this can be a stressful time, but we are so proud of their dedication and hard work. Keep going - you've got this!
Making a Splash in Swimming!
Swimming lessons have been going really well, with students growing in both skill and confidence. It's great to see their enthusiams and progress.
Wishing Andy a Happy Retirement
Finally, we'd like to extend our best wishes to Andy, one of our dedicated teachers, who retired at Christmas. Andy worked at the school for many, many years. Thank you to Andy for all those years of hard work and commitment - you will be greatly missed.
